Full power for the future
We invest in modern and sustainable energy generation
The energy generation of the future is sustainable, climate-neutral and decentralised. Since 2009, we have invested around Euro 730 million to further expand our renewable energies generation capacities and in project development. Here, we are focusing on onshore wind power, using biomass and waste to generate electricity and heating energy and biomethane production. We have installed renewable energies electricity capacities of 426 megawatts, of which 196 megawatts from wind power. With our partners Juwi and Windwärts, we are ideally positioned in the project development and operations management businesses. In the 2017 financial year alone, we connected renewable energies plants with capacities of 411 megawatts to the grid.
Competence in generating electricity from waste
We demonstrate our all-round competence in the ecological disposal of waste and biomass at our power plants in Mannheim, Offenbach, Leuna, Königs Wusterhausen and Flörsheim-Wicker. We are also successful in the British market. In south-west England, we operate a state-of-the-art energy from waste plant with heat extraction. Our biomass power plant with CHP capability at Ridham Dock to the east of London works exclusively with waste timber and non-recyclable timber from regional stocks. Not only that, in the Scottish city of Dundee we have taken over operations management at an existing energy from waste plant on behalf of our municipal customers and are building a new cutting-edge plant in the direct vicinity.back to top
