Jost Backhaus appointed as new Chairman of the Management Board at JUWI

Jost Backhaus (52) will become Chairman of the Management Board at JUWI GmbH as of 1 October 2025. In his role as CEO, he will in future be responsible for Finance, as well as for Personnel, Legal, Strategy and Portfolio Management. He will succeed Carsten Bovenschen, who left the company due to personal reasons at the end of 31 May 2025. Together with Christian Arnold and Stephan Hansen, Jost Backhaus will complete the company’s three-member management team.

A qualified industrial engineer, Jost Backhaus has already worked in the renewable energies industry for more than 26 years, most recently since 2023 as Managing Director of Steelwind GmbH, a manufacturer of foundations for offshore wind turbines based in Nordenham, Lower Saxony. Prior to that, he managed operations as a member of the Management Board at Enercon GmbH, a producer of onshore wind turbines with international activities. Jost Backhaus has previously held additional management positions at companies in the wind power industry.
