MVV Energie pays unchanged dividend of Euro 0.90 per share
As in the previous year, MVV Energie, the Mannheim-based energy company listed in the SDAX, is paying a dividend of Euro 0.90 per share for the past 2009/10 financial year (1 October 2009 - 30 September 2010).
Shareholders at this year's Annual General Meeting held in Mannheim on Friday thus approved the recommendation made by the Executive and Supervisory Boards. The dividend will be paid this coming Monday, 21 March 2011. Based on a total of 65.9 million shares, the dividend will result in a distribution total of Euro 59.3 million.
MVV Energie increased its sales from Euro 3.2 billion in the previous year to around Euro 3.4 billion in the past financial year. At Euro 239 million, adjusted operating earnings (adjusted EBIT) matched the previous year's figure.
The Annual General Meeting also elected the shareholder representatives to the Supervisory Board for the next five years: Dr. Stefan Fulst-Blei, Reinhold Götz, Prof. Dr. Egon Jüttner, Wolfgang Raufelder and Carsten Südmersen (all members of Mannheim City Council), Dr. Dieter Steinkamp (CEO of RheinEnergie AG), Dr. Lorenz Näger (Member of the Executive Board of HeidelbergCement AG) and Heinz-Werner Ufer (Graduate in Economics).
The Lord High Mayor of Mannheim, Dr. Peter Kurz, and the First Mayor of Mannheim, Christian Specht, sit on the Supervisory Board of MVV Energie AG by virtue of a corresponding provision in the company's Articles of Association. The employee representatives on the Supervisory Board elected by eligible employees of the MVV Energie Group at the end of January 2011 already are: Johannes Böttcher (Energieversorgung Offenbach), Peter Dinges (MVV Energie), Detlev Falk (Stadtwerke Kiel), Barbara Neumann (Stadtwerke Kiel), Uwe Spatz (MVV Energie) and Jürgen Wiesner (MVV Energie). Gunter Kühn (MVV Energie) was elected to represent management staff and Peter Erni (Mannheim), Antje Mohr (Kiel) and Katja Udluft (Mannheim) were elected to represent the trade union ver.di.
This year's Annual General Meeting was attended by around 1 100 shareholders and guests, representing 86.3 percent of the company's share capital.
